We are Bedouin Journeys
Bedouin Journeys is a bespoke trekking company that specialises in unique Bedouin experiences from Dana to Petra. Established in 2021 by proud Bedouin Suleimen Hasaseen, Bedouin Journeys is a local pioneer of small group guided tours from Dana Biosphere Reserve to Petra.
We think small is beautiful; being small we can focus on tour quality and sustainability, maintain strong local knowledge of the landscape and build meaningful connections within our community.

Reserve to Petra
Discover the ancient city of Petra in the best possible way - on foot!
Walk along paths forged by the Nabataean people. Be amazed at the ever changing natural environment; share tea with Bedouin people still living with this sacred land. Be amazed as the Dana Biosphere Reserve descends into the al Khashasha Valley Nature Reserve, the Reserves rise into a hidden plateau high above Wadi Siyyagh. Before Petra's ‘the Monastery’ suddenly comes into view.

Walk Two

Enjoy the untouched beauty of Dana Biosphere Reserve. A moderate, more scenic walk, this walk, takes nature lovers through the Reserve's four distinct ecozones, showcasing a rich diversity of plants, birds, and other animals. A walk that can be shared with young children.

Wadi Rum

Those who walk this way will never forget their experience.
Each adventurer takes away something unique from the powerful Wadi Rum desert. For some, the thrill lies in the arresting views. They wonder at the myriad of rock and sand creations one can gaze on a single desert path. For others, it's the volume of desert life; always within reach, Wadi Rum is after all home to the Arabian Orynx. But almost everybody will say that it is the quiet that they won't forget - a comforting silence and solace that cities can never give.

Wadi Ghuweir
Get away from it all.
Take in the sights of one the largest remaining wadi's in the Jordan region. Wander the twisting 14 kilometre natural path; an oasis of flora and fauna.
This walk involves water crossings and moderate scrambling.

So onwards we walked. Suleimen told us about his life as a Bedouin, the mountains and the history of this region. He told us about how the rains hadn't come and how in just two decades the way of life here was threatened. He spoke perfect English. And had travelled too.....but said he could never leave Jordan. Suleimen was so knowledgable about the mountains, the geology, the different types of stone and the landscape. He showed us plants, explained about wildlife...he was just incredible. What a blessed day we had.
